A new client came to us wanting a fluted marble fireplace, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to work with him on this project.
Our designer took the vision and developed the concept, putting together a marble hearth stone base, with fluted marble sides and front.
Moulded strips with a bullnose edge detail were to be placed around the mouth of the fireplace, with a mantel with a slight overhang.

The client wanted an ivory based marble, we sourced a 20mm thick Calacatta marble from the Carrara region of Italy – a honed finish immediately felt right for this piece. The veining is typically light grey, but in some lights it gives a lilac hue.
This ornate fireplace was always intended to command attention as the focal point of the room. Once the design was refined and approved by the client, our stonemasons began the meticulous work of bringing it to life.
Each section of marble was precision-cut and milled over several days to achieve the elegant fluted detailing, while the edges on the internal panels were mitred to secure seamless joins and a refined finish.

The final pieces were transported with the utmost care, upright and balanced, before being installed with precision. The process unfolded effortlessly, and upon completion, the client was delighted – not only with their self designed bespoke new fireplace but also with the Italian rosé we presented in celebration of the finished work 🥂 !
